Sedona - A Girls Getaway

Sedona is a quick flight from most west coast locations. Known for incredible hiking and excellent restaurant options. It can be a beautiful winter wonderland during the winter months.

It's important to note that you fly into Phoenix and Sedona is a 2 hour drive from Phoenix. We landed in Phoenix at 4, ate in Scottsdale and by the time we arrived in Sedona it was pitch dark outside.

We had an incredible dinner at Mariposa Latin Grill. The food was excellent. At the end of our meal, I asked if the chef was latin - in short no. She in fact, owns several restaurants around Sedona of varying themes - pizza, hambergurs, Italian & Mariposa, the latin restaurant. I would later learn that Mariposa is the best of the bunch and set the bar high for her other restaurants.

The next morning I went for a run at the Sugarloaf Trailhead. The hike was nothing short of breathtaking. It had snowed the previous evening and there was a dusting of snow across the trail and mountains.

Teacup is a fantastic trail that eventually connects across the valley to the birthing cave - a popular hiking trail.
