Bruges is a slightly longer train ride away from Paris than Brussels is, however, it's a completely magical town, more than worth the trek.
Its as if a gingerbread town has come to life. Every building is charming and the town is filled with restaurants, shops and more chocolate than you can fathom.
The town square features an old church, Markt, and a very large steeple. The church plays music every hour that makes it sound as if it's been wound up.
The entire town is surrounded by a canal, earning Bruges the name of Venice of the north. There are boats that you can take tourists through the canals. Its a relaxing way to learn the history of the town.
